Fitness services for you!

There have been some changes in AVD Fitness class options.  Below are what we offer:

  • Private sessions are $50 per hour.  You receive one-on-one T-Tapp and health/fitness coaching tailored to you and your goals.  A specific workout plan is put into place to help you reach your goals.  Email and phone support are included.  
  • Semi-private sessions are $35 per hour per person (2-5 people).  You receive T-Tapp and health/fitness coaching in a small group setting.  Email and phone support are included.  
  • Group sessions are $15 per hour per person (6-25 people).  You receive T-Tapp and health/fitness coaching in a large group setting.  Email and phone support can be included for an additional fee. 
Prices reflect me coming to you (in the greater Nashville area) with no charge for facility rental.  If rental of a facility (studio, workout room, etc.) is needed, that charge will be factored into the fee per person.

Beginning on January 1, 2010, you...

  1. Email me with which class(es) you plan to attend (for fitness part of challenge)
  2. Call me to order your food or go to www.avdfitness.tsfl.com (for food part of challenge). 
  3. Take a before photo (front, side, and rear) - also do weekly.  Hold a newspaper in photo to verify date.
  4. Weigh yourself - also do weekly.
  5. Measure yourself (Excel spreadsheet or pdf form provided) - also do weekly.
  6. Make notes of health improvements you notice (better sleep, less fatigue, higher energy, better outlook, reduced medications (only with your physician's approval), etc.)
  7. Update your Support in Motion personalized tracking system daily.  
On January 31, 2010, do the same and email me your pics and results of your 30 day challenge.

2010 classes are now posted!

Hey fans!  Long time, no talk to!  I've been busy setting up some new ventures to offer total body wellness to my clients.  Check out all the Quick Links to your right to see the services I now offer. 

New T-Tapp fitness classes for 2010 are posted - also to the right.  Please register in advance by sending me a quick email (workout@avdfitness.com).  If you're paying by credit card, you can click on one of the class links to pay there.  Otherwise, I accept cash and checks at the class.  Classes are $12 each and $55 for a 5 class card with a 60 day expiration. Classes start back January 4, 2010. 

And with all those New Year's Resolutions fast approaching, I'll be offering a food and fitness challenge again.  This time, even better prizes await you!  More details soon!

Take Shape for Life + T-Tapp = 3 pounds gone in one week!

In support of my clients who are participating in my 30 day challenge, I practiced what I preach this week. 

I ate small, nutritionally balanced Take Shape for Life meals every 2-3 hours, along with my Lean and Green meal in the evening.  In addition, I taught only two T-Tapp classes this week, plus added in a T-Tapp minute move each day.

According to an article posted recently on CNN.com, excess body fat is responsible for cancer.  We all know that excess body fat is certainly unattractive, but now it can cause cancer, too.  More reason than ever to get yourself to a healthy body weight and shape.

Halloween tips!

Is Halloween a big holiday in your house? If so, it can be a tough one with all the candy and junk around. Here's a tip to help!

Are you dreading Halloween? Here's a tip:  Don't buy any candy you like!  Don't tempt yourself with your favorite candy. Buy only candy you don't like. And don't tell yourself how badly you feel giving out that crappy candy to the kids in the neighborhood. They don't need the candy anyway.


Take Shape for Life can help.  Be sure to save one of your "5 & 1" meals to treat yourself with while you are handing out the crappy candy. Cut that chocolate mint bar into tiny pieces and make it last while visualizing yourself in that hot, new outfit you'll be wearing at those holiday parties. 

And, if you do happen to indulge, remember those T-Tapp Hoe Downs!  Hoe downs help regulate blood sugar and can minimize the problem of those additional calories showing up on your hips!  Hoe downs are a great T-Tapp minute move to do throughout the day, not only to help you with your waistline, but also provide a mental boost during those afternoon slumps.  Three minutes and your mind is back on track!
